About Startup Lisboa:
Lisbon’s startup scene is growing frenetically as the Web Summit is about to land in the Portuguese capital this year. After a six straight years in Dublin, Web Summit has touched down in Lisbon for the next three years. This fall, thousands of entrepreneurs, investors and influencers will land on the Portuguese capital of Lisbon for the week-long tech event.
Many attribute the coming of the event and foundations of the Lisbon’s startup scene to one of our most valuable partners in the capital: Startup Lisboa. Startup Lisboa is Lisbon`s top incubator and has greatly contributed towards the transformation of the Portuguese Capital into a tech and entrepreneurial hub. Startup Lisboa was born from the will of citizens, by being one of the most voted ideas in Lisbon participative budget, an initiative of the Lisbon Municipality. Founded in 2012, it is a private nonprofit association, which counts on three founding entities: Lisbon Municipality, IAPMEI and the Montepio bank.
It has supported some of the most iconic startups from Portugal including Hole19, Uniplaces and Luis Martins from Zaask who regularly mentors at our program.
